Geez.
You don’t realize how much you use electricity until it goes out. Geez. It’s been super windy here, where I’m house sitting, and it knocked out the power for several hours.
I think I’ll watch a movie, oh wait, I guess not. Maybe, I’ll do laundry, um, no again. Play on the computer, nope, the battery is dead. Heat up some beans and rice, oops, electric range. Now, it’s back on and I’m in electric heaven.
Last night I went with my mom to her friends Donna and John’s house. They cooked yummy food and we drank wine. Yeah, I drank wine with my mom. For those of you who know my mom, you know how freaking weird that is. Twilight zone weird.
Later on I hung out with some old friends from the Hut and had fun, even though we hung out at a country bar!
Now, I’m enjoying relaxing today with the dogs and birds.

Grand Jct and Palisade, CO (butterflies, bakery and roadkill)
Today, I decided to tourist it up a little and go to the Botanical Gardens here in Grand Junction. They have a cool butterfly house but it, unfortunately, didn’t have too many at this time of year.

Star Trekkin’ video
I believe I discussed this song with a few people (what my sig line is based on). I first heard it on a Dr. Demento CD. The song was done in 1987 by a group called The Firm and I believe this is their official music video from back in the day.
Super Awesomeness! It gets stuck in my head constantly as I drive.

Ugh. Good thing I’m here, I had to take the car to the mechanic’s today. At least it will be tip top when I leave.

Still here.
Just letting you all know I’m still hanging out in Grand Junction. I’m at my mom’s until the 10th, then I start house sitting for a few days. Maybe I’ll post some pictures of Grand Jct for those of you not from here?
Until next time,
wayward melissa

Recapping (Albuquerque to Grand Jct)
From Albuquerque I went to Santa Fe for a bit, and walked around the touristy traps. Although, there was an awesome pop art museum there.

Walsenburg, Colorado
Just a quick stop in Walsenburg, Colorado, on my way to the Sand Dunes. After so much driving through flat states I have dearly missed mountains. I am biased, Colorado is the best state.
I’ll recap a little on Santa Fe, with pictures, later.
