Friday. Jbug, MeKong and friends.

03:23 AM, November 22, 2008

I found my camera in my bag today, so I decided to document my Friday a little. Boring? Deal with it dude.

Here is me hanging out at the Jitterbug, earlier in the day. Jbug has a neat retro feel and is replete with Betty Boop figurines and decorations. Yes, Bruce is making faces at me.

All smiles.

Matt is off in dreamland right here. Maybe planning his next, frequent, trip to another country, or dreaming about his Smart Car on it’s way, or planning on what to eat when we all go out? Who really knows.

Warren, the “Crazy Dog Guy,” (in relation to the “crazy cat lady” from the Simpsons), stopped by for a short bit. Very photogenic. :)

He told me about a friend who was having an art reception today, so I went and checked it out. The guy’s name is Carel Pieter Van Kempen, and he’s a nature artist. Man, that guy has serious patience! If you check out his blog he has some youtube videos of his process in stop-action form. Crazy, crazy patience dude

So, every Friday the regulars and friends of Bruce, the owner of Jitterbug, meet up to go to Me Kong, an awesome Thai restaurant. Here is Kensie, Doc Brown and Bruce, chatting while we wait for more people to show up. Yes, that is Doc Brown from Back to the Future, or at least that is his nick-name-sake.

Brenda, one of the owners of Me Kong (along with her husband Ross), know us all by name and can usually predict what we’re going to order. Especially Bruce, since he’s been going to Me Kong every Friday for over a year now, and his meals are always double authentic with more death inducing hot powder than any sane person should be able handle. It’s rather entertaining to watch him sweat while he eats. He says it’s euphoric. Dang! Why didn’t I get a picture of him and his hot-food induced high?

Side note: babies don’t like me. I think they can smell fear. Right after I took this picture, the smiling, happy with the world baby looked over at me…and then began to ball. Seriously. They know they make me nervous and they tell me the feeling is mutual in their own way. By crying at me.

And that, folks, was my day. Have a wonderful night.

P.S. Warren is a nancy-pants because he skipped out on Me Kong, again. Nancy-pants! Nancy-pants!
